Been a long time comin', maybe it's time for me to call it a day Ain't no use in runnin', wouldn't know where to run anyway You carry on like it's funny, but you won't be laughin' when your time comes So hold your breath now honey, 'cause it's here, take it on, take it on, break it off Oh, hold me back, hey Don't know what I can tell you, don't know how I would anyway It's just life and it's not always pleasant, at least you're learning that today - you're coming along Nothing's ever perfect – that's nothing new, but it had to be said You can't iron out life's creases, no you have to wear the shirt and the wrinkles it came with Don't hold me back, hey hey Don't know what I can tell you, don't know how I would anyway It's just life and it's not always pleasant, at least you're learning that today Oh... Long time... Long time coming. Long time... to wait. Nothing left I can tell you, is there anything you'd like to say? Bitter pain makes the sweet more pleasant, but it'll come 'round to you in some other way It's not a straight line honey, there's a corner coming, and around it is more of the same You're not the only one, you can make it on your own, 'cause millions do it every day I'm not your one. You're not the one. It's over now.

Take it on faith that I'm gonna come back to you But faith alone is not enough to get you by Gotta look at the world - see what it's got in store for you Don't look inside, just open up your eyes Take it on faith Would you trust me with your life? I'll be your only one Then let my little book here be your guide Come on with me and darling I can hold you up But please don't call this heaven - the end is nigh Take it on faith - this is something I promise you Take you slowly and softly down to your demise Don't take it on faith 'cause it'll take away a part of you You think you see it clear, but you are blind Take it on faith Don't need a sacrifice to convince me of the need to stick around It'll bring you down just like I said Even if you refuse to tow the line and they don't take you for a ride Take t on faith, but don't take it in solitude We all need other people to get by Take it on faith, this is something I promise you Like the apple? Everybody wants to take a bite Take it on faith that I'm gonna come back to you But faith alone is not enough to get you by Gotta look at the world - see what it's got in store for you Don't look inside, just open up your eyes Don't look inside, just open up your eyes

I'll try 03:18
All I can do is dream tonight Alone right next to you, alone inside This is the last time I'll perpetuate this lie The last time I'll perpetuate this lie All I wanted was a chance to speak my mind But all I got was a kiss and a wave goodbye Every night when I walk into your dreams Everything is not quite as it seems Because to not strive is to not succeed Even in love Even in love Lately I've been dreaming of a time You will say the words and so will I Journey forward in each other's eyes Chance to save me from my own insides All I wanted was a chance to speak my mind But all I got was a wave and a kiss goodbye Every night I sleep without any dreams It takes a toll on me, or so it would seem Baby, I'll try, but I cannot guarantee All of my love When it's over and there's nothing to see How will we know if we were all we could be? Meanwhile I'll try, but I cannot guarantee All of my love Maybe tonight you'll walk back into my dreams And when I awake you will be right next to me Baby, I'll try, but I cannot guarantee All of my love Baby, I'll try, but I cannot guarantee All of my love

Been thinking 'bout choices and directions in life When you could've turned left, but you chose to go right How would it change things? Are they all butterflies? Can you tell when it matters, without needing hindsight? I don't know, but I want to. Time is slow. Have I lost you? When daily I walk past the place where we met, why do I feel a sense of dread and regret? I can't help but thinking how things might have been Can't help but feeling I only missed it by a little Been thinking about choices and the one that I made Not to act on my feelings when you moved away Kept myself quiet and watched you depart Now I sit here in silence...with a weight on my heart I don't... I don't know, but I want to Time is slow. Have I lost you? When daily I walk past the place where we met, why do I feel a sense of dread and regret? I can't help but thinking how things might have been Can't help but feeling I only missed it by a little. By a little. By a little. By a little. Yeah. [Imagine a guitar solo here] And still daily I walk past the place where we met. And daily I feel that sense of dread and regret. I can't help but thinking what we might have been No I can't help but thinking... Oh! I miss you. I miss you. Oh, I missed you by a little. Oh, I missed you by a little. Oh, yeah. Ooooh, yeah. ...by a little.

Enough time 02:16
Can barely believe it, got so much left to do You can't seem to fit even some of it - another long day coming through Had a long week now, got a long week next, still a long way left to go With so much to do and so little time, yeah everybody knows The day before should've done some more - found time to procrastinate Didn't realise then what price you'd pay - and now you're running late In the time it takes you to think this through, you could've done even more And that's one more distraction knockin' at your door When you're past half way, but you're not half done, what are you gonna do? So much left, so much at stake, so much depends on you The stress it builds, and you scratch a hole, you can't keep thinking straight The sound of a deadline flying by reminds you you're running late As the caffeine builds, and the caffeine flows, late into the night Eyes are red, your brain can't keep up, but still no end in sight There's a note from your boss on your desk next day and you dread what it might say But you can't keep running away Can't get enough, don't have enough, can't get enough time. Can't get enough, don't have enough, can't get enough time. Can't get enough, don't have enough, can't get enough time. Can't get enough, don't have enough, can't get enough time.

about

"My Year 2010: Month By Month"

In 2010, Oxtoby set a challenge to write, record and release a song each month. The songs reflect his experiences over the year 2010, which was a bit of a roller coaster ride exploring relationships, faith, joy, despair, opportunity and deadlines.

All 12 songs were written on time with 5 songs released on time, a further 5 recorded on time, leaving 2 songs unrecorded at the end of the project.

The final stages of production are in progress. If you download this album before all twelve songs are available, then you will be sent download instructions for the songs you are missing once they are available.

The 5 successful write-record-AND-release songs:
January – Long time comin'
March – Take it on faith
July – I'll try
October – Missed it (by a little)
November – Enough time

There is a bonus instrumental track when downloading the entire album.
